MEMBER REMINDER – FARM NITROGEN AND PHOSPHORUS BUDGET

MEMBER REMINDER – FARM NITROGEN AND PHOSPHORUS BUDGET

Members are reminded that as a result of Queensland Parliament passing the Environmental Protection (Great Barrier Reef Protection Measures) and Other Legislation Amendment Act 2019 it is a requirement as from 1st December 2021 for a Farm Nitrogen and Phosphorus Budget to have been developed by an appropriate person and is to be reviewed and updated at least annually thereafter by grower prior to fertilising.

Guidelines for Farm Nitrogen and Phosphorus Budget can be sourced by clicking here.

Queensland Government via Qld Rural and Industry Development Authority have a “Farming in Reef Catchments Rebate Scheme” of up to $1000 for sugarcane growers when professional advice from an Accredited Agricultural Adviser (AAA) is sought for managing nutrient and sediment run-off. Click here for more information and eligibility requirements.

Hardcopy of guidelines are also attached.
