DECLARATION OF STATE OF FIRE EMERGENCY FOR QUEENSLAND

DECLARATION OF STATE OF FIRE EMERGENCY FOR QUEENSLAND

Discussions with Tony Hazell, Regional Manager Rural Fire Service, today regarding the current “Declaration Of State Of Fire Emergency For Qld” has revealed that the lighting of any fire in accordance with a “Permit to Light Fire” issued pursuant to section 65 of the Fire and Emergency Services Act 1990 is not permissible during the period of fire emergency declaration. However sugar cane growers can continue the lighting of fires in accordance with the “Notification For Burning of Sugar Cane” in terms of section 63 of the Fire and Emergency Services Act 1990, provided all conditions are met.

A copy of Notification and information sheet, previously posted to our webpage on 5th June 2019, are attached for members consideration.
